It's Go Time Part 2?

 Go Time Part 2!!

Yesterday was the second day of production for "the ballad of bobby the blob", and to be honest there was a lot going on.
Before we started filming, me and Julia were trying to figure out a way for us to go to the beach for the montage of the film, but the thing was: there was no one that could give us a ride, well, mainly. Technically, her dad offered to take us, but I felt really bad having him stay there for 45 minutes just so we could get a couple of shots and film a short scene. So, I tried asking around my house for people who can drive to see if someone could pick us up or drop us off or something but then I realized, I needed the same car that Julia used yesterday in order to film the scene.
Nevertheless, I felt like things were getting too complicated and stressful, so I just decided to change the location of the montage from the beach to a park. Here in Weston, there are a lot of cool parks that we could use but I mainly chose to film at Markham Park since it's a big and spacious area with a lot of different places to get nice, cinematic shots. Then, I informed my actors, and we were good to go to film at 6pm.

The rest of filming went really smooth. Everyone got to the park around 6pm and for 30-45 minutes we ran around the park getting nice, cute moment of Julia and Yoav. I like the fact that they still tried to stay in character during these moments since they didn't just try to improv but also add their own little touch to things. It makes me happy when actors try to resonate with their characters at all times.
After we finished at the park, we headed over to my house to finish the last 2 scenes of film. We waited a bit for my boyfriend, Oscar to come and help us since he acts in it as Julias father. It was hard for me to get an older actor to play Julia's dad, so we just ended up using my boyfriend instead. We started filming and for some reason we could not stop laughing but once we finally focused, we got all the shots we needed and ended the production of " the ballad of bobby the blob".

One thing about filming outside is that it got a little difficult since I didn't want to seem like the actors were being lit by a light, so I used this tube light I checked out at Becon TV (Thank you Jim) and then I played around with the settings to make it look as realistic as possible. Might need to do some serious color grading but, stay tuned for more editing posts!

How do you edit?

 It's a Process

For the last couple of hours, I have dedicated my time to finish editing the first 2 scenes of the film before going out to film, and let's just say I have been very successful. I started editing by importing all of the clips I filmed into Adobe Premiere Pro.
I like to keep myself organized while editing so I know where I can find certain audio clips that I will need including dialogue, sound effects, music, etc. So far, I have organized the Project Bin section into 7 different folders since there are 7 different scenes in the film. Once I made the folders, I put the clips that I filmed to their corresponding bins (Meet and Car Pt.1) so I could slip the work and not waste so much time looking for the shot that I need.
Next, I started to assemble all the clips on the timeline in their correct order. Since all the audio of the dialogue was already synced with the video clips, I mainly just focused on blending them well together by using the effect Constant power between audio clips. One thing that I had to deal with though is to make sure there was no continuity error. When filming I didn't notice that the actors do different actions between takes so I had to find ways to avoid the continuity whether it was extending a shot longer than I originally wanted it to be or zooming into the shot so you could not see the other persons actions during a dialogue scene.

Color Grading and Correction

Once I finalized putting the clips together to my liking, I began color correcting all the shots that might have been a little over exposed, or just needed extra details so they could look better. Then after color correcting all the shots, my process of color grading is pretty easy (I think). Basically, what I do is that I go to a specific part of the scene and especially during back-and-forth conversations, I just color grade one shot of the conversation, then I color grade the opposite shot of the conversation and then I copy and paste it into every other clip within the scene.

So, for this conversation between Julia and Bobby I only picked one of the cuts from each perspective so I wouldn't have to go in and individually color grade every single cut of the conversation.

Audio

Now that I finished with all aspects of the shots, I went back to audio to add extra details so the film could come to life.
For the very beginning of the sequence, Bobby is very overwhelmed by all the incoming sounds of Earth and to make it as realistic as possible, I overlapped loud birds chirping, a dog barking, and an ear ringing noise to show the frustration within Bobby when coming to Earth. Once Bobby calms down, I added a more relaxing outdoor ambient sounds underneath the rest of the scene to smooth out the audio of the dialogue a little better.
Next, I looked for music, and to be completely honest. Music is the hardest part of editing because it's hard to find songs that really match your film but during my time in California, I found the perfect website that I can use to find music for my film. Fesliyan studios has a huge library of different types of songs including angry, sad, funny, suspenseful, and so much more. Once I found the songs, I wanted for the film I imported them into Adobe and timed them perfectly, so they blended in nicely with the rest of the audio. Lastly, I did some extra foley sound effects to add extra details to the actors' actions such as footsteps.

Original Score?

On Tuesday I was hanging out with my friend Martin because he needed help with his own AICE Media Portfolio Project but for AS level. Before filming, he showed me some songs that he had been producing for the film opening. Even though some of the songs he had made were not going to be used I asked him if there was, I chance I could include his music in my project. I feel that Martin is really talented, and he deserves for his music to be more recognized so, I got the rights for the song and now two of his songs are going to be featured within the film.  The Credits Song and the Montage Song are both going to be featured within the film. You can use the link to listen to both songs, and honestly, I really recommend, they are amazing!! Next up, more production!!!

It's Go Time?

 It's Go Time Baby!!!

JIMMY G!!!!

So today was the first day of production and it actually went really well. I woke up around 8:45am in order for me to be ready and awake to drive over to Becon TV and get equipment from non-other than Jimmy G. But before heading over, I had to make a quick pit stop at my friend Mateos house as he had the camera that I was going to use. I picked him up, we drove over to Becon, and he checked all the equipment he had checked out before I could sign my equipment out. Thankfully, Jim had all the equipment I needed for my shoot, and I actually get to keep it for an extra couple of days since he will be out of town this weekend which gives me a good window in case, I need to reshoot anything for the film.
Once I checked all the equipment with him to make sure everything was working great, I signed the equipment out and then he asked me a really scary question. This is lowkey out of topic but, I am planning to intern with Jim over the summer along with 6 other Broward County students. The thing is there are 35 applicants and Jim gave me the opportunity to be the first to pick when my interview was going to be which got me a little nervous for the rest of the day but once I got home, I shacked it off and started testing my equipment again just to get more familiar with it before going on the shoot.
At first it was going to be a one man show meaning I was going to shoot everything by myself but thankfully, my friend Samantha Duarte who is also in A level passed by my house to pick up some lights she needed for her A level projects and she was available to help me film around the time I needed her.

Filming!

Around 3:45pm, my mom and I head over to Weston Town Center where I waited around 10 minutes for the actors to show up. Once they got to our meeting spot, we set everything up and started shooting.

Shooting took around an hour and a half to film which was the estimated time of filming. Before shooting I asked Samy if she could run over to Publix and buy some cookies I needed for the film while I talked everything through with the actors including staging, the way they should say their lines, and their facial expressions. We started filming the first scene and everything was going pretty great until out of nowhere the crew and I notice this guy hovering over us tying to see what we are doing and we kind of get a little intimidated but, he was just waiting for us to finish so he could play his guitar without interrupting our audio which I genuinely really appreciated since a lot of people don't have enough curtesy to do that.
Once we were finished with the first scene, we moved on to the last scene of the day which was a little more difficult to film since we had to film it in car but after filming, I think everything ended up turning out pretty good which I was happy about.
I honestly had a lot of fun filming since I like everyone that I was working with, but also because it was an easy, smooth, nice shoot with no issues which usually tend to happen in a student film. Before leaving I made sure to set everything up with my actors for tomorrow filming again tomorrow and then headed on home!

Editing Already?

Call me crazy but yes, I already started editing what we shot today. I feel that the editing process for this film is going to be a lot easier since the microphone I was using was already connected to the camera, so it is really just about putting the clips together, adding music, color grading, and adding any extra detail needed for the film. So far, I have edited a minute and 8 seconds of the film which I am very happy about considering the fact I felt that this was going to be a lot longer. It's still not done but you will be getting an update tomorrow after day 2 of production! Stay tuned!

So Promotion?

Go Follow us on all Socials!!

So, update! I have been wrapping everything up before filming tomorrow and Thursday which I am very excited about. The game plan for tomorrow morning is to wake up early to get to Becon TV to get all the equipment, including the camera, my audio equipment, tripod, lights, and anything else I might need before shooting. Get that set and ready for filming so that around 3:30pm- 4pm we meet at Town Center to start filming the first part of my film. Tomorrow we would film scenes 2 and 3 and then Friday film the rest of the of it. But enough talk about filming let's talk about what I have been doing on the side.

Social Media

The reason I chose to use Instagram for my social media platform is because my main target audience is between 13-20 years of age and that age group tends to be more attracted to Instagram than other platforms. I also felt it was the more popular platform compared to other platforms like Twitter or TikTok.
I've been trying to find content to upload to the social media as we have not really filmed anything but I'm glad that this film is part animation so since it has helped me give some content to the social media. In the last couple of days I have made 2 posts, the first one introducing the film name and promoting the fact it is coming out soon. I thought it was a good first post to show my audience what is coming and what they expect of the film.
The second post I made about our little main character Bobby the Blob! I wanted to introduce the audience to who Bobby is and wonder what type of character he is, he's personality, his ambitions, and more. I don't want to give too much away since I will be posting a lot more soon to the film release, but I do want the audience to get a sense of who Bobby is and that he is the main character of our story. However, social media is not the only thing I have been working on.

Postcard.

For the front of the post card, I made two versions as I felt that for this film, Althea plays a big part of it. Even though she is not one of the main characters, Althea is the reason Bobby gets to go t Earth in the first place which makes me want to highlight her more on the social media than she is in the actual film. For the first postcard (Left) I made Bobby the center of attention as the story revolves around him. I also made the word "Blob" in a different color to highlight how Bobby is different from other people within this film. At the bottom, I also added the directors name so people would know who it was created by and maybe check out some of my other work in the future.
For the second one (Right), I decided to add Althea talking to Bobby moments before they he leaves to Earth. Again, I feel that it's crucial to add Althea as she is the reason for this whole story but I'm also debating using the first one as the audience might confuse who is the main character here, they also might expect a lot more of Althea within the film if I choose the second one as the front of my postcard.

This is the back of the postcard that I have been working on, for the All-American High School Film Festival selection logo I had to fix the 2024 since I could only find the 2023 version of that logo. What I did is I created a white rectangle on Canva and put it over the original 2023 (where the 2024 is currently). Then I found a font as similar to the original 2023 font was and then placed it on the same spot so it could flawlessly blend in with the original logo. I felt that splitting the back of the postcard into 3 different sections made everything looked more organized and put together so people who differentiate between the screening times at the film festival, the social media, and the tittle of the film.
Soon I will be updating the final postcard, how filming goes tomorrow and the start of my editing process :)

Film Festival Promotion?

 Wait! We need Postcards!

For my film project, the main print component that Cambridge asks of us is a postcard. This is a very helpful tool to use when trying to promote films at Film Festivals as I have seen people hand out their own postcards at festivals such as the All-American High School Film Festival. Lately, I have been trying to look for inspiration but have not been able to find examples of big-time productions so I referenced my favorite place to look for inspiration: STUDENT FILM PROJECTS!

WHAT YOU WATCH!

Last year, my friend Wade was in the A level class of AICE Media Studies, being a big fan of his I referenced his blog a lot for help to write my own blogs from last year but also get inspiration of what to talk about in my blogs and what to post. Being a big fan and supporter of Wade, I watched his film last year "What You Watch". Since we had known each other for a while I had asked him about the film and how he came up with it and everything he did for his production because reading his blog isn't the same as listening Wade be so passionate about something he created.

Since he's page has always been a good influence, I refer to his post card for many reasons. I love how simple but also detail Wade is with his postcards. The picture of the main actor Connor Lirio pointing at the audience with the title on top "What You Watch" I thought was a pretty clever idea as it indicated the viewer this film is targeting them. The contact info at the better shows a clear place of where to contact Wade and how to reach him which is perfect. I think the one thing I don't love about this back cover is how small the location is. Compared to the "Screenings" text, I would have made it smaller to make the location stand out more. But also, since he only has one location, I would not have put an s at the end of Screenings. I also don't love that he doesn't have the specific address as some people may get confused on where the place is if the Cinema he chose is a franchise.

However, the front of the postcard is just: chefs kiss. I feel that the front of this cover is not just eye catching but also so interesting since it catches the color scheme of the film and the way the light shines on Wades face is so beautifully done it's so incredible. I also like that the text is big and bold to make sure audiences know what the film is called and who it is by. I think for my post card I will definitely be using this as a reference to make my own postcard for my film.

Boxed:

Since I can't just relay on Wades post for inspiration (Although I wish I could) I began to look for other inspiration for my postcard in other student projects. I found this postcard from a student project in 2021 called Box. What I like about this postcard is the fact that they have the logo of the festival that film will be shown at. I feel that if you are going to a film festival it is important to identify the name but also logo of the place as many people might not even recognize it through the name but maybe through its logo or graphic design (if you have cool photographic memory, I suppose why you could not remember the name too but hey I'm also guilty for this).
What I also like about this post card is that it has multiple dates giving the audience the chance to see this film more than once. The one thing I don't love is how the text doesn't blend well with the Background. For my postcard, I will try my best to make sure it blends nicely like it did in Wades but, that it has the specific address of the screenings and different days people can view my film is it can become more popular by being more specific of where it might be.

So how are you doing this?

 Honestly, I have no idea.

So, I feel like I have been meaning to update my experience as being a first timer animator for this film since I have not talked a lot about it within the progress of this film.

Flipaclip

Flipaclip is the main app I have been using for the last couple of weeks to make this project possible. At first I never really understood it so it was a lot of trial and error and mentioned in previous blogs but once I got the hang of it was actually not that bad.
The main tools I use within the app are first 3 tools in the bar, and the 2nd and 3rd buttons at the very top. The brush tool comes with 7 different types of brushes that you can use in order to have different textures within the animation. I thought this was super helpful as I wanted to make the background kind of look like it had depth of field as if it was “being filmed” in a camera. So after testing around with the different bushes for a while, I chose to use the pencil tool to have that nice, low-key faded look as the background.
For the actual characters itself though, I used the pencil tool (the main brush) to develop Bobby and the blobs within the blob world as I wanted them to stand out from everything else. I also wanted to capture the idea of the world as sad and lonely with the color scheme but also the way they looked.

So, after playing around in the app, they turned out like this! I’m honestly very happy with the results as it was exactly how I envisioned it in my head from when I was writing the world. But then after realizing that now I needed to add Boby into the picture I wanted to make him stand out as he is supposed to be different out of the other blobs within the world. I chose to make him a lighter color then everyone else to represent his difference within the blob world.

Frames

I didn't realize how time consuming it is to add little details to every single animation within the app, but something really cool I like about FlipaClip is that you are able to copy and paste some of the things you have already animated which made my life A WHOLE LOT EASIER. However, it was still time consuming having to add all of these little extra details in order to make everything look exactly how I wanted it and need it to look.

Line?

 Your line is uh...

So, after finally overthinking the script, its finally done. I've been trying to cut down as much as possible since it is 12 pages long, but I feel that all parts of the story are valuable to Bobbys character and his quest of understanding how Earth works. So, without further ado, the ballad of bobby the blob:

Updates on everything else:

I'm currently working on the shot list for the film and wrapping things up before we start filming. The reason I am not really doing a storyboard is because I will be the director of photography for this film and since I kind of already have a pretty good idea of what I want the film to look like, I don't want to mess up that vision as sometimes storyboard have changed the way I want to shoot something and don't usually turn out as great as I want them to be. But still I have been referring to picture or stills from movies to help me construct the type of shots I want to use for my film.
For the beach scene within my film, I have been looking at different types of inspo pics for what I want it to look. This is a still from my friend Santiago Salazar's upcoming film "Six Months Until Impact". You might remember him from the documentary I did back in November, but he has been such a huge help with the all the ideas I've had and has helped me improved not just on my cinematography but the way I write my characters within films and their intensions within the story.

Equipment! My favorite part:

If someone were to ask me about one place that is perfect for checking out equipment, submit videos, and get really cool space to film either a podcast, video, or music the first place that comes to mind is Becon TV. Becon TV is a local broadcast news station in Broward County that is runned by non-other than the famous Jim Guarasci. Jim is one of the coolest mentors I have ever met and is super into helping students achieve their goals in film by teaching and helping them find new ways to make really good content. I have known Jim for over a year now and one of the cool things about Becon TV is that you can checkout equipment for free for a max a week to film any video that you are working on.
Yesterday I texted Jim about certain items of equipment I wanted to check out for the film. Since it's going to be spring break soon but also a lot of other kids from other schools are working on AICE Media Projects, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get the equipment I need for this film. But luckily, I think Jim has every piece of equipment I need for this film in order to be as successful as it can be.

Animations:

I am currently almost done with all animations which means that it'll only be a matter of time until I can start editing the animations into the timeline on Adobe Premiere to start my project!! WOOO!! I am very excited to keep this project moving after a long period of being stuck and not knowing what to do. I think not having the script done and not really feeling satisfied with what I was writing made me feel like I was doing good enough but after realizing not everything needs to be perfect helped me come to terms with what I was making and finally being satisfied with my script.

Where have you been?

California

So to be completely honest, I’ve been so busy in the last week that I haven’t been able to focus on this project and let me explain why. For the last couple of months, I have been training with Cypress Bay Television to compete at Student Televisions Networks National Convention competition. For the last 8 months we have been practicing every Saturday for 8 hours to write, film and edit a short film to a specific prompt.

Well. . . let’s just say it all payed off. The field trip was a span of 5 days and on the first day we traveled and got to explore the city of Long Beach, California for a bit since the next day it was our biggest competition day. How STN works is that you get a prompt for whatever category you are competing in whether it’s Short Film, Documentary, etc. you can get any type of prompt such as “Rise and Shine” or “Silver Lining”. Our prompt this year was “I Remember Everything” with the line of dialogue “I’m telling you, they just walked in and gave me this”. After the most stressful 8 hours of my life, we submitted on time for our competition and we celebrated, we went to dinner at Buenos Pizzeria Place and then reviewed our film. At first we were very scared because me and the director realized we made a mistake so we both believed we were not gonna place at all after spending so much effort and money into this competition.
For the next couple of days we tried to forget about it and move on by going to workshops and learning about new equipment and schools at the convention center. Then on Saturday we competed again for Silent Film which was our last day before closing ceremony, our prompt on that one was “Do you hear that?” (I know right, the irony is crazy). Once opening ceremony started we basically swept in all categories as we had 5 first place winners in individual teams and 4 honorable mentions in individuals. Once they started to announce the crazy 8s, we were scared and nervous nonetheless but we ended up winning first place in the nation, making history to be the first team ever in CBTV to compete for the first time and win for the first time  in Short Film Crazy 8. I will forever be so grateful for everything I learned on this trip and how much it has changed me as a filmmaker.

So how is this relevant to my project?

During this trip I learned that every decision I make can be interpreted in any way shape or form and sometimes that can be a good thing and sometimes that can be a bad thing. The main issue with had with our film is that because we were rushing so much to finish we forgot to put in a clip that was crucial to the story line. Regardless of our placing, we felt the story didn’t make sense with out it but my friend Matias made a really good point on how the judges could’ve interpreted which made me realize that sometimes I don’t need to overthink about every single little thing I do with my films. What I mean by this is that  yes as a director it is CRUCIAL to make wise choices with everything but if the shot isn’t perfect or one line of dialogue isn’t on point or not everything in the film is a “cinematic masterpiece” then that is okay.
I’ve learned to understand that I am still growing and learning as a filmmaker but I also need to recognize that I do have talent and that I am worth to make it into the industry I just need to keep going and keep creating in order for me to presume my dream of becoming a big time hollywood director.

Can't you just pick?

 No, I Can't

As mentioned in previous blogs, I have finally come up with a name for my film which is called "the ballad of bobby the blob" and as much as I love this name the next step is taking the time to think of the best fonts that match the theme of the film.

These are some of the options I came up with when trying to figure out the best font. The thing about fonts is that sometimes I struggle to pick because I want it to feel natural within the film. Last year, one critique I got from my film opening is that the font for my film was too stylized limiting the film to reach the target audience that I wanted to achieve so this year I wanted to go for something simpler that would let this project reach its full target audience and not be super stylized.
The first option of the three is a simpler type of title with a dark blue kind of matching the tones of the Blob world, what I like about this one is that I feel that it's not super stylized and would probably blend in nicely with the image I am picturing which is relating to the Aftersun poster I posted in my last blog. The next one is more light which matches the tones and ideas represented on Earth with Julia and Bobby, but I'm scared that it may be a little too playful for the film making it stylized.
The last one I like a lot because of the thin lines of the letters but I feel that it might be a little too fancy for the film. I'm still in the process of picking one and I am also debating if I should animate the tittle since there are elements of animation within the film.

#FollowUs

 #INeedFollowers

This week I have finally developed the social media page for the film!! Lately I have been thinking about the color scheme that I want for my Instagram account as I want the account to be cohesive in color and theme. But another really important thing I wanted to incorporate is little blobs within the Instagram since Bobby is a Blob. Some of the main colors I was thinking about for the beginning were dark purples and black to represent the Blob world and how it is. Then it would progressively start to get lighter and lighter, giving it this gradient effect throughout the variety of the posting. The main colors I do want to use those are light blues and kind of a sunset type of yellow showing their time at the beach together throughout their adventure throughout the film.

I have been also thinking of the type of poster I feel would match best with the theme and message of the film as well as the overall distribution part of the film.

Because this is a short, I was mainly planning to have a digital release of the film on YouTube. Due it being released digitally the poster is going to be fairly simple with the title of the film and where you can find it. So, a great example of what I want to go for is the 2022 Film "Aftersun" starring Paul Mescal. I love this film so much since it provides such stunning images which has kind of the same vibe that I want to give off during the beach scene with Julia and Bobby within the film.
My struggle with the poster is that I don't know if I should include the blob of version of Bobby within the poster since I feel like it will through fans off on what is actually being represented in the film. One thing I had thought of doing is maybe splitting the actor with the body of the Blob to represent how he is not from this world. I'm still trying to figure it out but lately I have just been doing a lot of planning and I am excited to start the promotion of this project!!

Script Update

I have also been struggling a bit to write the ending of the script because I want it to end a good note, I will be updating about this very soon so stay tuned for that!!

What's up?

 Group Meeting

Today in class we had a group meeting with other peers to connect and talk about our projects to help each other out. I usually enjoy this group meetings because I have a lot of feedback to give back but this year it's been a little rough. Since I have been struggling with my project lately this group meeting actually helped me a lot on the struggles I have been having with my film.

Title

Something I have been struggling a lot with is finding a title for my film, I don't know why but for the long time I feel like I've just sucked at coming up with names for projects because sometimes they won't make sense or just sound weird but with the group meeting today, they helped me a lot coming up with what I should name it.
After explaining the plot line to them, we all kind of sat there for a min to think of what we should call it, and after thinking and thinking my friend Baily came up with "The ballad of bobby the blob" at first I wasn't a huge fan but once I started to think about it more, I started to love it, I like the play on words for it and kind of the tongue twister part to the name. (Try saying that 3 times fast) Another person in my group said that the title also sounds memorable, so I feel that it brings a good connotation to the film and the overall message of the story.

Other Concerns

After providing feedback to my other peers the biggest question we had for each other is, are we all in a good place for the project? Due to the fact that most of us were doing something different, I feel good about where I am for my project. The next couple of things I will be working on is finalizing the script, start the promotion for the social media, and start storyboarding, shot list and any other important aspects I need before shooting. I was to try and shoot during or after spring break, so I have enough time to figure out where I want to shoot and run everything through with my actors.

What's Next?

 Casting!

Okay! So! This past week I have been trying to get as much done as possible but due to the SAT being next week, and school piling up and also being that time of year where your motivation lacks, and you're basically done with everything. . . let's just say it's been a bit difficult. I'm trying really hard to get back into the groove but at least for this project it's been going pretty well.

Script

In the last couple of days, I have been making revisions with the script, adding, deleting, rewriting whatever I feel could be improved for this project to be the best it can be. I have been meaning to meet with my friend Armesto for some help. In the past he's been my script supervisor for a project we worked on together and he gave me a lot of good tips that elevated the story so much. He's also very passionate about good writing and don't get me wrong I know we are all high schoolers, but I do feel that he can be such a good help with the project especially with the dialogue. (I tend to write things that are too cheesy and then I look back at it and it's just bad)

Actors

When I was first staring to write Bobby, I always tend to think of possible actors who I feel would be really good for the role and when I was learning and understanding Bobby within the script, my friend Yoav was one of the people who I felt would be so perfect for this role.

Yoav is such a great actor, he's played several roles in the drama shows at school and he's currently playing Amos in Chicago. I also feel that he's such an underrated actor and him being in my media class gave me such an advantage because I can closely work with him during class and outside of class.

For Julia, I want my friend Julia Amigorena to play the character. Considering the fact they both have the same name; I hope you can tell I really want her to play the part. Julia is one of the most talented actors I have ever met, the first time I worked with her was in my latest project called "Party" and she just completely knocked it out of the park. She was my main lead in the film, but she's also been in tons of shows at school including FAME, Mrs. Borusewicz in Chicago and others. I also just feel that this girl has so much talent that people need to see and even if she doesn't end up being an actor in the long run, I want to give her as many opportunities as she can have to do what she loves.

But the biggest bonus with working with Yoav and Julia is. . . . THEY'RE DATING!! They have been dating the last year and a half (I think) so there's already a natural chemistry between both which is perfect for the chemistry I want between Boby and Julia. I feel that everything is coming together nicely and I'm just very excited for this project to flourish.

Critical Reflection

The concept of “the ballad of bobby the blob” developed in a way that I was not expecting to come to me at all. Even though at first, I w...
